Martin Souza became a Polaroid photographer when he borrowed his father’s SX-70 in 2022. As an inquisitive beginner with no technical knowledge of photography, he approached the Polaroid medium on its own intuitive terms, and quickly came to love its immediacy, unpredictability, and imperfection. His professional practice, Polatronic Studio, is focused on sharing knowledge and experience, and encouraging others to explore and experiment with instant photography. In addition to sitting on the Instant Film Society board, he is Editor of The Instant Film Magazine, host of the NYC Instant Photowalk, and resident Polaroid educator at Brooklyn Film Camera. In January 2026, Martin became the IFS East Coast Director.
